Textile Recycling Startup, TextileRe
Liberate humanity from textile waste.
TextileRe is a pioneering startup solving the global textile waste crisis. Using Polymer targeted extraction technology, we’ve developed an innovative method to recycle polyester blended fabrics—materials once considered unrecyclable. Our mission is clear: to liberate humanity from textile waste.
The fast fashion industry generates approximately 92 million tons of textile waste annually in South Korea alone. Among this, petroleum-based synthetic fibers pose a major environmental challenge due to their resistance to natural decomposition and their contribution to pollution. In response, global fashion giants such as ZARA and H&M have committed to transitioning to eco-friendly materials, fueling rapid growth in the sustainable textile market.
However, polyester fabrics—often dyed, processed, and blended—are difficult to recycle using conventional methods, resulting in most of them being incinerated or landfilled. Even recycled polyester made from PET bottles faces criticism, as it too is ultimately disposed of through incineration or landfilling after use, making true closed-loop recycling nearly impossible.
TextileRe addresses this issue head-on. By developing proprietary technology that enables us to recreate fiber from fiber, we are building a truly sustainable textile circular ecosystem.
